A memorable and enjoyable day.

Some children wanted to do the exercises at home.

Good for listening skills.

Classes provide a fun approach to yoga and include warm ups, postures, games, story themes and relaxation exercises.

 Curriculum Workshops

Most of my work is centered around developing yoga opportunities in school: providing  themed curriculum workshops and  running classes during PPA times.

You can book a workshop for…..

  • Arts/Creative weeks
  • Visual Literacy weeks
  • Building learning power focus
  • Health PHSE weeks.

Packages can provide a series of workshops for both KS1 and KS2 for a session/whole/half day/s.

The lessons are planned to suit the focus and the needs of the children in the school. For the younger children the workshop is based on a thematic story and for the older children, more posture and partner work is incorporated. Both classes include warm up exercises, relaxation opportunities and visualization techniques.

Workshops include information, reading material, support ideas and resources for the children/teachers.

Workshops I have undertaken……

Creative Week : Africa Yogabugs

Yoga Story : Walking through the jungle

Children warm up and then go on a journey, rowing down the Amazon, picking mangoes, meeting African animals and experience life in the jungle.

Arts Week /Visual Literacy/PHSE and Healthy Events

Book your yoga workshop now to link with Visual literacy  or curriculum themes.

Using traditional yoga postures, breathing and relaxation techniques, children are led into exciting adventures and magical places. They will often jump on a magic carpet, surf down a mountain or fly off in a hot air balloon! They meet mermaids, dinosaurs and astronauts, swim with dolphins, play football and all their adventures have happy endings- the children are always the hero!

Fun, creative classes designed to stimulate children’s powers of imagination, maintain their natural flexibility and teach them to breathe correctly. Some of the overall benefits to the children are improved concentration levels, better sleep patterns, greater self-esteem, and a stronger immune system.

BLP and Yoga

Building learning power is the philosophy behind Guy Claxton. It focuses on helping teachers to find ways and processes of how children learn best. Guy Claxton talks about four key learning dispositions- Resilience, reciprocity, reflectiveness and resourcefulness. These are all core aspects of yoga teaching and can be implemented through the workshops.

 Sports Partnership Funding

Funds are available via ‘schools sports partnerships so you may qualify for this! This is a government supported grant which was set up to encourage children to spend a minimum of two hours per week in sporting activities. It could be a great start and a way to introduce children to the benefits of yoga.
